I found this course to be very helpful. It gave me the guidance I needed to do the job I am here to do.
I volunteer as a Volunteer Coordinator for a non-profit agency and this course has given me the focus and
training I have needed to get the job done. It has also given me direction and feedback from the experts
to do it the right way.

I stumbled upon the Volunteer Management Certificate Program at WSU while searching online for information about effective
volunteer recruiting practices, and immediately signed up! I had worked as a volunteer coordinator before, but had no
formal training and I felt I might gain some new insights from the WSU program to help me with my current job as Volunteer
Coordinator at the library. And, I did! The courses, while fun, are packed with information and the assignments gave me
practical experience that I used immediately in my volunteer program.
I recommend everyone who is considering or is currently working as a volunteer coordinator to register. I feel more confident
in my abilities and I have used what I learned to build a strong volunteer workforce. When I accepted this position with the
library in 1996, we had 50 volunteers giving 250 to 300 hours yearly and our numbers didn’t increase until after I began learning
what it takes to have a great program. Last year (2006) 1,082 volunteers gave 25,560 hours of service and I am excited about
what the future will bring after I have completed the Advanced Volunteer Management Certificate Program!
