On November 14, 2008, we are hosting an event that will reach out to not only our military families but to educators, community leaders and anyone who wants to learn more in understanding and supporting military kids. Washington State Military Kids and Families Summit will feature workshops on deployment, transition, and related issues. There will be resources and exhibits, dynamic speakers, and networking and outreach opportunities.
Sponsorship requests are due November 1, 2008.
We are a coalition of organizations that have come together with our various skills and resources in support of military kids and their families in Washington State. The organizations include: a variety of state and local organizations including the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, US Department of Education Region X, Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs, US Department of Defense Regional Liaisons Office, Madigan Army Medical Center, Washington National Guard, US Army Reserve, Navy Region NW, TriWest Healthcare Alliance, Washington State University, Valley Cities, King County Department of Community and Human Services/Veterans Citizen Levy Oversight Board, and many others.
Who should attend?
Anyone interested in understanding and supporting military kids and families.
