Identify, Inspire and Mentor the Next Generation of Leaders

The Most Valuable Leaders (MVL) Program is a unique, eight-session, skill-building experience for the next generation of leaders in business, government, education, and non-profit sectors. Program participants meet once a month for eight months with business educators, business leaders and coaching practitioners to learn discrete skills of leadership in the workplace under guidance from experienced workshop facilitators. Created by Washington State University’s Center for Distance and Professional Education in collaboration with the College of Business and other content experts, the MVL Program is a hands-on leadership experience that will provide participants with increased abilities to inspire others to seek personal and organizational excellence.

What Makes This Program Unique

We don’t just talk about leadership, we demonstrate and practice it. Hands-on experiential sessions have been developed by a team of executive coaches, leadership consultants, business leaders and Washington State University faculty. The workshop facilitators are experienced in helping leaders achieve success and making the learning experience truly enjoyable. In between sessions, participants must apply the knowledge and skills they acquire in their own work environments. Individualized coaching is available throughout the program to help address issues that arise when implementing leadership skills in the workplace.

An investment in this program becomes a catalyst for change throughout your organization; by the end of the program, participants will have improved not only their own leadership skills, but also the skills necessary to inspire others into positions of leadership for long-term organizational success.

Program Basics

Format and Location

The MVL Program consists of eight sessions delivered once a month for eight months. Each session will begin on a Friday afternoon and continue through dinner with a guest speaker. The group will reconvene Saturday morning for an additional six hours of work. Between sessions, students will have assignments to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in their own work place environment. Coaching will be available to assist participants in applying their skills.

Workshop locations will be selected throughout Washington to be as convenient as possible for each cohort of individual participants. All eight sessions will be at the same location. For company-specific cohorts, the workshop will be delivered at the company or at a location near the company.

Fees

The cost for the complete eight-session program is $3,300 per participant and includes all materials and instruction, eight dinners and lunches, and eight hours of coaching per participant.

Participants

A minimum cohort of ten participants is required, but we can accommodate groups as large as 25 participants. Workshops can be customized to fit the unique leadership requirements of a specific organization.
